The ONLY ISO/IEC 17025:2017 Accredited Lab in the PNW!

Central Welding Supply unveiled a new state-of-the-art Specialty Gas Mixture Lab less than a year ago (February 2020). Our gas production and distribution facility, headquartered in Smokey Point, WA, is the ONLY one of its kind in the Pacific Northwest.

The system was configured, engineered, and installed under the direction of Gary Emerson, the Lead Manager for all Central Welding Supply Fill Plant operations.

The system cylinder chamber offers a controlled environment to guarantee the end result. Accelerated production capacity allows us to respond quickly with the Highest Purity gas mixtures in the marketplace.

Gary provides the Certificates of Conformance for Specialty Gas products requiring the Highest Purity standards, up to 99.9999%. The lengthy certification process began late last Summer 2020. ISO Accreditation was the next logical step for High Purity Mixtures to be a part of Central Welding Supply’s everyday business.

ISO/IEC 17025 General requirements for the competence of testing and calibration laboratories is the main ISO standard used by testing and calibration laboratories. In most countries, ISO/IEC 17025 is the standard for which most labs must hold accreditation in order to be deemed technically competent. In many cases, suppliers and regulatory authorities will not accept test or calibration results from a lab that is not accredited. Originally known as ISO/IEC Guide 25, ISO/IEC 17025 was initially issued by the International Organization for Standardization in 1999. There are many commonalities with the ISO 9000 standard, but ISO/IEC 17025 is more specific in requirements for competence and applies directly to those organizations that produce testing and calibration results and is based on somewhat more technical principles. Laboratories use ISO/IEC 17025 to implement a quality system aimed at improving their ability to consistently produce valid results. It is also the basis for accreditation from an accreditation body.

  • ISO/IEC 17025:2017 accreditation for Testing and Calibration represents a significant investment in quality.

  • Internationally recognized Quality Management System (QMS) has been assessed against ISO/IEC 17025:2017 and meets or exceeds the requirements of the standard. This QMS includes an overall system for technical and quality management.

Assessed by Perry Johnson Laboratory Accreditation (PJLA), an "Accreditation Body" (AB) meeting International Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation (ILAC) standards. ILAC is the peak ISO 17025 accreditation body, mutually recognized among their peer AB's (e.g. A2LA, NAVLAB, etc.)
